Natural Skin Wellness Tips

Today’s blog is on how to keep our skin looking and feeling healthy. I am a big skin care advocate especially because there are so many natural remedies that cure some of the most common problems we all experience from time-to-time.

The skin in the largest organ on the human body; therefore, herbs and some plants are essential to skincare wellness because they naturally heal and are not harmful to the skin like most medicated, prescribed, or over the counter products.

Here are some herbs or plants that help the skin altruistically:

Thyme is an herb from the mint family. Although thyme is commonly used for cooking it also works wonders for the skin. Thyme controls blemishes and prevents acne breakouts. Thyme produces the best results through steaming because it opens the pores and cleanses the face.

Lavender is an aromatic herb also of the mint family. Lavender is a common healing herb, with that said, not only does Lavender soothe the mind, body, and spirit but it is also great for problem skin. Lavender aids in firming the skin and supports new skin growth on scars and healing wounds.

One of my favorite herbs is green tea. Green tea is produces from Camellia leaves. I normally drink 3-4 cups of green tea a day so you can say I am full of antioxidants. Green tea is found in a lot of facial products because it plumps and naturally reduces wrinkles. Green tea is an anti-aging agent because of its high antioxidant levels.

Chamomile is an aromatic herb from the daisy family. Chamomile is not only good for relaxation but it is also excellent for skin issues. Chamomile is known to reduce wrinkles, fine lines, and acts as an anti- inflammatory agent. No more puffiness!

Aloe Vera is one of the best plants in the world. Aloe Vera is commonly found is cosmetic products because it is rich in vitamin C & E. This natural remedy works well for both male and female. Aloe Vera works miracles when it comes to reducing blemishes, moisturizing the skin, and fighting acne.

I hope you find these tips helpful. The best part about using herbs and plants as  solutions for our skin problems is that they are not very pricey like most prescribed or over the counter products. Since you know your skin better than anyone; you can best determine which natural herb or plant works best for your skin.
